Western Cider is hiring a full time Tasting Room Manager. To be considered for this position you must have scheduling flexibility. Shifts are typically 3:30pm-10 or 11pm, as well as some 9am-5pm shifts.

Job Overview:

The Tasting Room Manager’s primary role is to manage tasting room staff, insure positive customer experiences, and maintain all aspects of a functioning bar. - Applicant must be 21+ years of age

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

- Excellent customer service skills

- Must be detail oriented and organized

- At least 3 years experience in tasting room, restaurant or bar

- At least 2 years managerial experience

- Cost management skills

- Inventory management skills

- Proficient in operating iPad based POS systems

- Able to multi-task and manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

- Experience developing food and drink recipes a plus

- TIPS certified

- ServSafe certification is ideal

- Experience with Excel is ideal

- A natural curiosity of food and drinks

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver 160 lb. kegs

- Must be able to remain standing for extended periods of time

- Understanding of the cider making process, cider culture and its history is a plus


 Front-of-House Work & Customer Service

- Provide exceptional customer service to all Tasting Room patrons

- Resolve customer complaints

- Maintain a thorough understanding of all Tasting Room products, company history, and production methods

- Keep a clean and friendly environment for all guests at all times

 Staff Recruitment & Team Development

- Manage and monitor bar staff

- Hiring, training, and management of bar staff

- Maintain a positive and friendly work environment for all Tasting Room employees

- Schedule work hours for bartenders and Tasting Room staff

 Tasting Room Marketing & Events Management

- A strong desire to collaboratively lead the direction of the taproom experience while staying up to date on market and industry trends

- Conducting cider tastings, cider dinners and other small events to help further the education of our community about cider

- Assist in organizing, setting up and staffing all Tasting Room events

- Maintain Tasting Room marketing materials and inform bartenders of all current promotions and events

 Stock Control & Tasting Room Organization/Maintenance

- Creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures for re-ordering needs and inventory stock levels

- Inform management of maintenance and repair of equipment and other services needed

- Maintenance and organization of the cooler and draft system

 Food Safety Management

- Manage preparation of food and cider

- Maintain standards of presentation and safety for food and cider

 Tasting Room Accounting

- Oversee cost control and profitability of the Tasting Room

 General Responsibilities

- Proactive management of Tasting Room improvements
